This book came about largely thanks to us three having a good day out together in Edinburgh. We spent the morning eating breakfast on the roof, spent the day sat on a hill, and spent the evening by the fire. Each text carries some of the atmosphere we felt that day, expressed in different ways.
 
The collection is titled ‘Messengers’ in reference to the fact that the three of us, all based in different cities, have been communicating via online messaging for the entirety of the process of bringing you this book,  as well as in reference to Euan’s story and the ‘messenger’ characters who come from the boat, which being three of them reminded me of us.
